About Reservations
How do reservations work?
You can make a reservation directly through our website, via email, through social media, or by phone contact.
Can I reserve and pay for a vehicle even if I am not the one picking it up and driving it?
Yes, the reservation can be made by a person who is not the driver of the vehicle.
What are the minimum requirements to rent a vehicle?
You must be at least 20 years old and have at least 1 year of a valid driving license. If you do not meet this requirement, you can still rent with us but will need to present a valid credit card information as a guarantee in case of damage of the vehicle.
What are the opening hours of your offices?
Our office hours are from 08h30 to 18h00.
Can I receive a copy of my invoice?
You can request a copy of the invoice by emailing [email protected], indicating the reservation number, voucher, or contract.
During the Rental
Accidents
In the event of an accident, you should contact us immediately so we can activate the insurance. It will be necessary to provide a completed and compliant accident report, as well as photos of the incident and any other relevant information you can gather; otherwise, the company may deny any responsibility.
Fines
Fines must be paid at the time or upon the return of the vehicle.
Complaints
If you are not satisfied with your vehicle or with any equipment rented from our car rental, please contact us, and we will replace the vehicle or equipment as quickly as possible.
Payments and Returns
Cancellation
Cancellation of your reservation is free up to 48 hours in advance; however, if you have booked through an operator, you should check their cancellation policy.
How does the delivery and return of the vehicle work at Horta Airport?
Delivery: If you have a reservation for Horta Airport, we will have a staff member waiting for you. Upon arrival at the airport, our meeting point is outside at the exit. The vehicle contract is completed outside the terminal. Return: Regarding the return of the vehicle, it is done at the departures area of Horta Airport, where a staff member will also be waiting at the scheduled time. Another option is to bring the rental car to the L2 headquarters and a staff member will give you a ride to the airport, free of charge, at the agreed time of return. This option will be discussed at the moment of the initial pick-up.
How does the delivery and return of the vehicle work at my accommodation?
We deliver and pick up the car at your hotel in the city of Horta, as requested at the time of booking (minimum 5 days), free of charge. Outside of Horta, the delivery and collection of the vehicle are subject to a delivery fee and availability. Another option is to return the vehicle to the L2 headquarters and a member of our staff will give you a ride to the airport, free of charge, at the agreed time of return. This option will be discussed at the moment of the initial pick-up.
How can I pay for the rental and what are the payment methods?
Payment can be made in cash, MB-Way, credit card (we do not accept American Express), and debit card. The payment is done at the pick-up time.
Deposit/Security Deposit
We do not require a deposit/security deposit to rent a car at L2 Rent.
Returns
After renting the vehicle, if you wish to cancel rental days, it is possible; however, we do not provide a refund for the remaining days that were previously contracted.
What do I need to do in case I lose the keys?
You should immediately contact our team by phone or through the contact page.
Fuel Policy
The customer must return the vehicle with the same amount of petrol/diesel that was provided. Our fleet includes both petrol and diesel vehicles, so all cars are marked with the type of fuel they consume. In case of any mistakes, the cost of rectifying the error will be charged.
Insurance
There are two insurance options available: Super (SCDW) and Supplemental Insurance.
**SCDW Insurance**
This insurance is included in the prices shown on our website. It is a zero excess insurance, meaning you are free from any responsibilities caused by accidents and theft of the rented vehicle. However, the insurance does not cover damages to the interior of the vehicle, windows, mirrors, tires, the underside of the car, driving under the influence of alcohol, and loss of keys and documents.
**Supplemental Insurance**
This insurance covers windows, mirrors, and tires, which are not included in the SCDW insurance. It has a cost of 18€ per day (optional).
Lost Items
You need to contact L2 Rent regarding any items left inside our vehicles by reaching out to our reservations center. L2 Rent a Car is not responsible for lost items in the vehicles.
